ETOWAH - Kenneth Edwin Angel, 89, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 17, 2020.

He was born in Macon County on November 27, 1930 to William Grover and Evelyn Earley Angel. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy McCoy Angel, a daughter Janet Wakefield, a sister Betty Angel Jennings, and a brother James Howard Angel.

He is survived by his second wife Sue Smith of the home, daughter Kendra Angel Byers (Don) of Pisgah Forest; sister Madge Angel Salter of Brevard, brothers Don Angel (Mary) of Little River, South Carolina, Earl B. Angel (Bonnie) of Gastonia, North Carolina and William Gene Angel (Dana) of N. Ft. Myers, Florida. He is survived by his grandchildren, Sheridan Byers (Suzanne) of Pisgah Forest, and Caroline Byers Roberts (Justin) of Pisgah Forest;  4 great -grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

He served his country with the US Marine Corp during the Korean War, after which he and Dot moved to Brevard. He worked for Olin/Ecusta until his retirement.

Due to COVID-19 a private family graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 21 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina.
