BLACK MOUNTAIN - Ruth Stanfield Holland, 96, of Black Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 25, 2022, in Greenville, South Carolina, where she has resided with her daughter for the past 11 years.

Mrs. Holland was born Oct. 11, 1926, in Macon County to the late Beaulon and Hattie Guffey Stanfield. She was a member of Meadowbrook Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Holland; son, Doyle Holland; and sisters, Margie Evans and Lily Hastings.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sheila Holland Bryant (Jim) of Greenville, South Carolina; son, Tony Holland (Linda) of Black Mountain; grandchildren, Angela Jezowski (Jon) and Chad Holland (Kara); and great-grandchildren, Meredith and Madison Jezowski and Anna Holland.

A family graveside service was held Thursday, Oct. 27 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Highlands with Pastor Randy Stone officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meadowbrook Free Will Baptist Church, Missions Fund, PO Box 566, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
