Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Lillie Angel Tallent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Henderson Tallent, who died May 9, 2008.
Theodore was a U.S. Army veteran; charter member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as former deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member; and former member of The Gospel Lights group and The Redeamers group.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Tallent and wife Sallie and Jerry Tallent and fiancé Teresa of Franklin; two brothers, Cecil Tallent and wife Kathy of Asheville and Kenneth Tallent of Lenoir; six grandchildren, Jonathan Tallent, Dustin Tallent, Tammie Hovis, Terri Rogers, Sherry Sitton and Susan Cook; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Brian Holland and Rev. Greg Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family received friends from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Tallent, Lee Sitton, Brad Hovis, Garrett Hovis, Noah Sitton and Tucker Rogers. Honorary Pallbearers will be great-grandchildren.
