Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Ernest Huggins and Reba Parrish Huggins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Welch and Laura Jean Stidham, and a brother, Bill Huggins. Rass was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Burningtown Baptist Church; enjoyed cooking, was an avid reader, loved shopping and was a great story teller.
He is survived by one daughter, June Angel and husband Doug of Franklin; five sisters, Ann Welch, Carol Lee Mehta and Wanda Fouts, all of Franklin, Nadine Denny of Cookville, TN and Betty Sue Harper of Huntsville, AL; brother, Mitchell Huggins of Franklin; two grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson and Rodney Chastain; four great-grandchildren, Brittany Shuler, Seth Shuler, Clara Anderson and Sophia Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 6, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service.
