Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late John Henry Rogers and Addie Miller Rogers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters and a grandson, David. Lee was a U.S. Army veteran; member of Franklin Church of God; enjoyed gardening and working in his machine shop.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha Vinson Rogers; son, Gary Rogers and wife Lou of Franklin; two grandchildren, Joel Rogers and wife Cheryl and Christina Joiner and husband Brent; great-granddaughter, Eden Rogers; and two sisters, Dorothy Gregory of Cornelia, GA and Roberta Holt of Rabun Gap, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 4, at Franklin Church of God. Rev. Eugene Moore, Rev. Aaron Phillips, Rev. Joel Rogers and Rev. Michael Stephens will officiate. Burial will be in the Wright Cemetery. VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday, prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Rogers, Calvin Rogers, Darrell Gregory, Vernon Vinson, Dexter Vinson, Ernest Nix and Bryant Phillips.
