James Conrad Clark was born June 3, 1943, in Covington County, Mississippi. He is predeceased by his mother and father, Virgil and Bertha Kate Roberts Clark and two brothers who were deceased before his birth. He is survived by his wife, Julia Susan Wallace Clark and three children, Ronald Keith Clark Regelman (Dawn) of Smiths Station AL, and Connie Rochelle Clark and James Conrad Clark, Jr. of Pensacola, FL. In addition, he is mourned by two stepchildren, Richard C. (Court) Mealins, (Julie) of Birmingham, AL and Caroline Mealins Van Lake, (Mark) of Jackson, MS. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by the members of his wife’s family, George Wallace (Karen) of Hendersonville, Mary Ann Hendricks (Paul) of Kings Mountain, Bryant McClure (Mac) Wallace (Debbie) of Columbus, NC and William Michael (Mike) Wallace, (Barbara) of Greenville, SC, to whom he was brother and friend. 

Conrad retired from the engineering department of Chevron, USA in Pascagoula, MS where he was given the Chairman’s award for achievement in recognition of his development of engineering software. Upon retirement he established a consulting business and worked extensively both in the petroleum industry and outside it, in this country and in Europe and the Middle East. 

He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Master Mason and a Knights Templar York Rite Mason. He was a master of the building trades, a pianist and had an open and intensely curious mind. He was friendly and loved people.  His optimistic and happy attitude carried him through his devastating final illness and its associated treatment and his dependence on Christ was unwavering. 

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Wendell Ligon officiated.  Burial was in the Carson Cemetery. 

The family received friends from 1-2 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home. 

Pallbearers were Evan Mealins, Spencer Phillips, Adam Wallace, Chad Wallace, Matt Wallace, Will Hendricks and Paul Hendricks.
