NICEVILLE, FL - William “Bill” Steele passed away on Oct. 6, 2021. Bill was born in Patterson, New Jersey on July 25, 1945, to William Steele and Dorothy Wesley. His father was a public servant in the New Jersey community and Bill followed that path later in his life as well. Bill served his country in the Air Force during Vietnam and married his wife of 40 years, Jeanine Steele, on July 26, 1981, in Boulder, Colorado. He was the dad and loving father of Melanie Steele of Cumming, Georgia, David Steele of Denver, Colorado, and Nikki Davis of Niceville, Florida.
Bill was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 40 years. During that time, he served the Sylva Post Office for 10 years and lived in Franklin and Highlands.
Bill will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery near Pensacola, Florida on Nov. 24.
