BOWERSVILLE, GEORGIA – Mr. James William “Jim” Parker Sr., 68, of Airline School Road in Bowersville, Georgia, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at his home.

Born on June 14, 1952 in Clayton Georgia, he was the son of the late Arvel Parker and Mary Frances Dalrymple Parker. Jim was owner/operator of Parker Directional Drilling and was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church where he served as former deacon and Awana Commander. He was also a US Air Force veteran. 

Survivors include his wife: Susan Curtis Parker; two sons: James Parker (Amy) of Bowersville, Daniel Parker (Leslie) of Central South Carolina; one brother: David Parker (Marie) of Rutherfordton North Carolina; one sister: Patsy Parker of Franklin; four grandchildren: Hannah Simmons, Natalie Simmons, Sophie Parker and Jaxon Parker. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents. 

A Celebration of Jim’s life was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Bethany Baptist Church, with Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Luther Thomason officiating. The family received friends following the service.
