FRANKLIN – Barbara McGaha Posey, 75, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, Jan. 29, 2021.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late William Felton and Ruth Slagle McGaha. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in by her husband, Douglas MacArthur Posey, and her son, Tony Douglas Posey.
Barbara retired from Angel Medical Center, where she worked many years in the dietary department. She was a faithful member of Tellico Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Ann Posey; a sister, Betty Jane Breedlove; and a brother, William “Harold” McGaha, all of Franklin; and four grandchildren, Douglas Posey, Austin Posey, Melissa Hall and Portica Waldroup. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren, Logan, Namen, Esperanza, Rolando, Anastasia, Emellina, Amilia and Coy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The Revs. Gary McCoy, Morris Tippett and Jerry Guffie will officiate. Burial will be in the Tellico Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
